Established in 1994, Indiana Therapeutic Massage School is Indy's premiere massage training program. In the last twenty-nine years, ITMS has graduated hundreds of Licensed Massage Therapists, working right here in central Indiana and around the world.

You won't find a more comprehensive massage training program. We offer a professional and caring environment to learn the art of therapeutic massage. With low monthly tuition payments, flexible classroom hours, and VA approved, your search for the perfect school has ended.

Our Massage Services
Back massage with gentle hands

Our Student Clinic Massages are discounted 1-hour massages that are offered on specific days and times as a component of our students' training through our 625-hour massage program. Our clinics are quite popular. ITMS advises making appointments well ahead of time.

The ITMS curriculum is a result of over twenty-five years of development. Our objective is to produce first-rate therapists with a well-rounded knowledge of massage, its scope of practice, business-related skills and ethical considerations.

ITMS is excited to provide an online continuing education platform.

Indiana has recently made continuing education for LMTs legally required to maintain a license. ITMS is excited to be the only school to provide an online partnership with Niel Asher Education. We are committed to equipping our students with the tools and knowledge they need to excel in their careers. Niel Asher Education NAT courses are designed by experienced practitioners and eductors from around the world.

Our Founder, Janis Sawyer Legendre, passed away peacefully on July 30th, 2024. She created our school in 1994. Janis created a culture of connection at ITMS. She paved the way of legitimizing massage therapy as an industry. She genuinely cared for every one of her students, instructors, and clients. Her ability to love, inspire, and empower those around her was unmatched. The impact she had was profound, and her legacy will live on forever.
